Whiskers

9 x 13 cm
The rabbit was adapted from a pattern by Sandra at Cherry Heart. She used larger yarn, but most of my scraps right now are left over from knitting socks. http://sandra-cherryheart.blogspot.com

Sweet and Sour

9.5 x 6 inches

I ran into my daughter online the other day while I was setting up this still life painting.  With messaging and sending pictures, we discussed motif, composition and lighting, and came up with this arrangement.  It was fun.

Someone else likes to get in on the action.

Christmas Coasters

9 x 11 cm

We have crocheted off white doilies for coasters, and I wanted some green coasters to put under the Christmas doilies.  After considering the possibilities, I decided to use some gesso boards that were prepared for paintings.  I wanted to use oil paint, but was it worth it to make small paintings for coasters?  I thought mini paintings would be just right.
They'll be dry for next Christmas.  :-)

Sing Noel

18 x 24 cm
I sing Noel, I sing Noel for children
For all the little children who have no Christmas tree
I sing Noel, Noel, Noel
For little girls who have no pretty dress to wear
Little boys who have no teddy bear

I sing Noel, I sing Noel for children
For all lonely children who cry on Christmas Eve
I sing Noel, Noel, Noel
For little girls whose hands are trembling in the cold
Little boys whose eyes are too too old

May the new born Savior
Turn his tender face to you
May he help us all
To make this world a better place for you

I sing Noel, I sing Noel for children
For all little children who have no Christmas tree
Let’s all sing Noel, ring the bells of Christmas
For all lonely children wherever they may be
Noel, Noel, come spend Christmas with me
Noel, Noel, come spend Christmas with me

Bunting

Looking at pictures of bunting, I was never tempted to make or use it.  Then one day I found myself wondering how a Halloween bunting would look. I thought some small bunting might pop up my shadow box, so I decided to try it.

I played around with the size and shape of the triangles until I liked the proportions, made the triangles and wondered how I would string them.  Twine seemed appropriate, but how to attach them.  I put them on with straight pins to get the positioning, and liked the way it looked, so I hung it up.  The pins are kind of like the clothes pin effect for bigger projects.

When Halloween is over, I put away the pumpkins with faces (Jack-o-lanterns), and keep the remaining pumpkins for fall and Thanksgiving decoration.  This bunting has a touch of Halloween but that's okay.

Phone Pockets

The way things get tossed around in my purse, I didn't want to add my phone to the jumble without some kind of cover for the screen.  I found the patchwork (that had been a wrap around a flower pot) in my stash, and sewed the sides to make a pocket, and added the button.

The first one worked well, so I sewed up another flower pot wrap.  I thought a button didn't look as good on this one, so I used snaps.

The third one was designed as a phone pocket.  The button is decoration with a snap underneath.

Clean

I Love Maxi

18 x 24 cm
My son Max and I had a lot of fun drawing on paper.  I would say "I" and write it on the paper, and he said it after me.  Then I drew a heart and said "love".  He repeated "love".   The last part I wrote his name, and together we would say with gusto... "Maxi!"  We did it over and over until the paper was full of. . .  I "heart" Maxi.
